Free Holiday Stars and Snowflakes Scrapbook Quickpage

Click the free personal use/scrap for hire holiday scrapbook quickpage image below to download the full-size image.

This free PU/S4H holiday scrapbooking quickpage is titled "Merry and Bright" and was created with my commercial use gold holiday scrapbook elements, which you can download by clicking on the link in this sentence and visiting my last post. The design features lots of gold and crimson sparkly stars and snowflakes on a warmly colored cloth background.

Click the image above to download the free holiday scrapbook quickpage
Although you can't really read it, the quickpage also features a poem by Jo Geis, titled Christmas Long Ago. Thanks to The Holiday Spot (Christmas poems section) for use of the poem. Thanks also to Gunhild Storeide and Le Petit Scraps for their contributions to this design.

Please be aware that this Christmas scrapbook quickpage is for personal use or scrap for hire only. Many of the elements in the holiday scrapbook kit I used to construct it, however, are OK for commercial use and are available if you download the kit mentioned above.

Gold Holiday Scrapbook Elements

Click the free holiday scrapbook elements image below to download the full-size image.

This free CU scrapbooking kit features 25 gold holiday elements, plus an ornate gold border and an overlay containing a field of stars. As a take-off on the old saying, "All that glitters in not gold," I've named this kit "All That Glitter Is Gold," because there's a lot of glitter and it's all gold. You'll probably find at least some of these images useful long past Christmas and the other winter holidays, so you should be well stocked for gold blingy things year-round.

Click the image above to download the holiday scrapbooking elements
The kit will be free for a week or so and after that it will only be available in my store at DigitalScrapbookingSupplies.com. So grab it now by clicking on the preview image above! (12-28-10 update: The kit is no longer available for free. The link in the image above now goes to my store.) And if you like this kit, please leave a comment below, follow this blog, click the Facebook Like button or vote using the buttons below the post. I know it's easy to grab and run (I do it too), but I appreciate it if every now and again people indicate their appreciation. I make it a habit to give some form of "thank you" to other designers' blogs I visit by doing any of the things I mentioned above at least once in every couple of times I'm there.

Please remember to honor the terms of use for this digital scrapbooking kit. It can be used for commercial projects but there are a few caveats. Please read the TOU in the kit for more information. Thanks!

Winter Scrapbook Quickpage with Robert Frost Poem

Click the free winter scrapbook quickpage image below to download the full-size image.

This free personal use winter scrapbook quickpage features bright touches of color on a background that looks like a wintery, foggy day. The bright red in the cardinal and winter berries are there as reminders that it doesn't stay cold forever and spring will arrive once again!

Click the image above to download the quickpage
To emphasize the winter theme, I found a lovely Robert Frost poem that provides a written counterpart to the wreath's snowy branches and the overall winter feel of the page. The poem is called
Looking For a Sunset Bird in Winter and I thank the Famous Poets and Poems site for providing the text. Thanks also to Helga Stolzenwald of grannyart.blogspot.com, Marisa Lerin of pixeledmemories.com and Gunhild Storeide of storeide.se/gunhild/index.htm for use of their images in this design.

BTW, you can find the free personal use wreath element used in this design on my Christmas scrapbooking blog. Feel free to hop on over there and download it.

Please remember to honor the terms of use for this digital scrapbooking quickpage. It can be used for personal projects only. Thanks!

Free Winter Snowflakes Scrapbook Paper

This free personal use and scrap for hire (PU/s4h) winter snowflake scrapbook paper is perfect for Christmas, Hanukkah or just plain old winter scrapbooks, handmade cards and crafts. For me the design is wishful thinking, because I live in a place where it never snows: South Florida. So the only snow I ever see is on my computer screen or TV. We hope to change that soon by moving to Georgia (the one in the U.S., not Europe). The real estate market can't stink forever, right?

Click the image to download
I love the little hint of purple within the blue of this scrapbook paper design. I'm happy whenever I can sneak purple into any of my designs, especially if it's soft purple. With any luck you'll find uses for this snowflake scrapbook paper design as the winter months wear on.

For those who celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I wish you a happy holiday. For everyone else, happy scrapping and crafting!

Please remember to honor the terms of use for this scrapbook paper. It can be used for personal projects or scrap for hire only. Also, please don't post this image or anything you make with it without providing a link to this site. Thanks!

Free Fall Leaves Scrapbook Paper

This free personal use (PU) fall scrapbook paper uses the leaf and string swirl element from my commercial use Thanksgiving add-on to the Home Is Where the Heart Is kit, which went on sale today.

I'm a sucker for purple and orange together with other fall hues, so I really like this design. I hope you like it, too, and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if you're from a country that doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving in November, I hope you'll find this fall paper useful for other things.

FYI, I have a quickpage from the same kit, which I'll be posting soon.

(Click the scrapbook paper image to enlarge it and either right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) to download it.)

Free Fall Apples and Word Art Scrapbook Elements

I call this free mini CU/S4H/PU fall scrapbook kit How Do You Like Them Apples? for obvious reasons. The red and green apple images have a grungy look that matches my fall leaves and scrapbook papers, so these make a great addition for those who have bought or plan to buy those fall kits. There are also three matching word art elements.

It's unusual for me to offer free CU images, but I wanted people to be able to use the with my CU fall kits. Please do read and honor the terms of use in the kit, though, because "CU" doesn't mean "free reign."

Click the Download the kit link below the image to retrieve the file and click the image if you want to see a larger version of the kit contents.

 Download the kit

The name of this scrapbook kit reminds me of one of the funniest lines in Good Will Hunting. For those who haven't seen the movie (and I highly recommend it), the interchange goes something like this: Matt Damon's character is in a Harvard-area bar, trying to pick up Minnie Driver's character. While there he gets into a fight with several snobby Harvard students who don't think he's good enough. Naturally, though, he gets Driver's phone number, because he's so charming. After leaving the bar, he spots the snobs sitting at a table by the window in a coffee shop.

He yells through the window at the main snob, "Hey, do you like apples?"

The snob looks confused but says, "Yeah, why?"

Damon slams the piece of paper with Driver's phone number against the window and says, "Because I got her number. How do you like them apples?"

I don't know if that's funny in print, but it makes me laugh every time I see the movie.

Anyway, I hope you do like these apples and the three fall word art elements that accompany them. Here's a link to buy the CU kits that match them (click the image):

Free Halloween Scrapbook Cluster

I call this free personal use/S4H Halloween scrapbook cluster Halloween Sewing Circles, because it features machine-made stitches, buttons, string and straight pins, with a few fall leaves thrown in for good measure. (Click the image to enlarge it and either right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) to download it.)

I created this Halloween sewing-theme cluster in honor of my mother, who was a professional seamstress. She made most of my clothes when I was growing up, which allowed me to wear the very loud colors I favored at the time and couldn't find in stores. I cringe when I think of the semi-formal metallic off-the-shoulder dress in bright shades of teal and magenta that she made for me in junior high. Or the skirt and jacket with fluorescent (and that's not exaggerating) orange accents. You could practically see them from outer space. Yikes. Well, I thought it was cool at the time and my mom let me have whatever fabric I wanted. For that she deserves to have at least a Halloween scrapbook embellishment dedicated to her!

Thanks to Gunhild Storeide for most of the elements used in this design.

Please remember that the freebies on this blog are not for commercial use (they're for PU/S4H only), unless specifically indicated. But the kits on my Digital Scrapbooking Supplies site can be used commercially, subject to a few simple terms. Thanks!

Free Halloween Scrapbook Quickpage

This free PU/S4H Halloween quickpage is another add-on to my Something Wicked Halloween scrapbook kit. I just love using those creepy images to design!

To download, click to enlarge the quickpage and then right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) to download the art to your hard drive. Some operating systems will automatically bring up a download box.

This "Haunted Halloween" quickpage design is yet another trip to the dark side for me. I'm personally more inclined to dress up as a princess or something pretty for Halloween, but I don't mind creating virtual images that are a little more macabre. It's fun to take on another persona for just a little while.

As I mentioned, this quickpage is from my Something Wicked scrapbook kit, which is now on sale. You can get it by clicking the link below:

The scrapbook elements are also available in a bundle with my CU Halloween word art for a reduced price.

Please remember that you can use my paid scrapbook kits for commercial use, but not my freebies. You can use them if you have a scrap for hire business, though, and, of course, for any personal project you want.

Free Halloween Word Art

This free PU/S4H Halloween word art is an add-on to my Halloween word art kit. It's pretty basic, but I think you'll find it will come in handy for Halloween scrapbooks and crafts.
Click to enlarge the word art and then control-click (Mac) or right-click (PC) to download it to your hard drive. Some operating systems will automatically bring up a download box.

I'm not a morbid person by any means, but I must say that my Halloween kits have been a little on the creepy side. That's the point of Halloween, after all. I'm very happy with both of the kits, but I must say I'm glad to leave the dark side, design-wise, and start working on my two new companion kits, Home for the Holidays: Thanksgiving and Home for the Holidays: Christmas. I never know what a kit will truly look like until it's almost finished, but I'm planning lots of warm colors and a real homey feel.

But let's not leave Halloween just yet! If you'd like to purchase my new Halloween word art, just click the link below:

The word art is also available in a bundle with my CU Halloween elements for a reduced price.
Please remember that while my paid scrapbook kits are for commercial use, my freebies aren't. You can use them for scrap for hire, though, and, of course, for your personal projects.

Free Fall Leaves Scrapbook Cluster

This free PU/S4H fall scrapbook cluster was created using my fall leaf elements. It started out quite simply but I got carried away and couldn't stop adding leaves. Hence, we have the ornate cluster you see before you! I hope you find it useful for your personal or scrap for hire projects. (No commercial use of this freebie, please.)
Click to enlarge the scrapbook cluster and then right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) to download it to your hard drive.

I'm a little biased, but I think this cluster came out kind of pretty! ;-) It reminds me a lot of the seemingly billions of leaves that used to fall every autumn in the yard of the house I grew up in. There was a liquid amber tree in the front yard that had beautiful colored leaves in the fall. It stood out, because there weren't a lot of colorful leaves in the part of L.A.'s San Fernando Valley where I lived. Most trees went from green to gray-brown to naked in rapid succession. Now I live in South Florida and there's nary an autumn leaf to be seen. But we do have spectacular giant flowering trees with blossoms in bright shades of persimmon and yellow in the spring, so that kind of balances things out.

If you'd like to purchase the CU/S4H/PU fall leaves used to construct the cluster or the fall papers that match them, click the links below:

There's also a bundle for a reduced price if you want both. It includes a bonus free quickpage that uses the cluster in this post.

Happy scrapping! :-)

Free Fall Photo Frame

Click to enlarge and download the frame, which is for personal and S4H use

The freebie PU/S4H scrapbook frame above was constructed with images from my Fall Scrapbook Papers kit (which also matches my Halloween kit, by the way). I hope you find it useful!

Today I have to take care of some overdue housekeeping. I was so busy putting up my new DigitalScrapbookingSupplies.com site, I had to delay posting my gratitude for a blog award I received last week. So, thanks to Laura at the lovely The Alliance Trader blog for giving Free Scrapbooking Supplies the "Cherry on Top" award:

I couldn't be more pleased! It's my first blog award, so it's extra special to me. According to the award rules, I'm supposed to thank the giver, show the award, post a favorite picture, name three things I love and give the award to five other bloggers.

So here's one of my favorite pictures of all time. It's of my nephew Spencer at Disney World when he was two or so:

Look at those big blue eyes! And I'm sure you'll recognize the frame.

As for what I love, that made me stop and think. Here's what I came up with:

1.) Designing images
For years I made my living as a magazine art director, until I switched to writing and editing. It's only recently that I returned to design -- this time to please myself, not clients. The fact that people seem to like some of the things I create brings me a lot of joy.

2.) Watching movies
This may seem lame, but I love movies! I was even an extra in a few of them when I lived in Los Angeles.

3.) Spending time with children
I don't get to do it that often because I don't have children of my own, but I always find myself uplifted after hanging out with kids.

Now to give the award to five other deserving recipients:

Scrappiness Downunder
Lesley is incredibly talented, prolific and generous.

Granny Art
Like Lesley, Helga is an incredible artist who freely gives of her huge collection of art.

LunaRosa
Kelcey of Lunarosa is also generous with her colorful and creative scrapbook freebies. If you hurry, you can see the picture she posted of herself before she pulls it down!

Far Far Hill
Skimersan of Far Far Hill is another purveyor of beautiful freebie images.

Engrish Funny
Although politically incorrect, the manglings of the English language by non-Americans posted on this blog are hilarious.

So, there you have it. Thanks again to Laura for the award!

Free Halloween Scrapbook Quickpage

Click to enlarge and download the quickpage

This free personal use Halloween scrapbook quickpage was created with my new Something Wicked scrapbook elements kit. I've been having so much fun designing scrapbook images, I decided to build a site to sell some of them. (Don't worry; there will always be freebies on this blog!)

The new site is DigitalScrapbookingSupplies.com and at least initially it will focus on commercial use images. I know how frustrating it is to find an image you like, only to discover you can't use it on a commercial project. Slowly but surely, I'll fill the site with all kinds of affordable goodies that you can use to build your own kits, do scrap for hire projects or make other print or Web products. There will be some limitations, but I'm attempting to be as flexible as possible.

Below is a link to the Something Wicked kit. I hope you'll find it useful!

Soon I'll post a freebie from my other new commercial kit, Fall Leaves. I made a rather elaborate frame using those leaves that I think you'll like. Until then, happy scrapping!

Please note that this Halloween quickpage is for personal use only. I appreciate your honoring my terms of use. Thanks.

Free Rainy Day Fall Scrapbook Quickpage

Click to download the free fall quickpage
This is the free fall scrapbook quickpage layout called "Rain, Rain,Go Away" that I promised to post. It was created using the full free Fall Magic scrapbook kit posted last week. (There's also a free fall mini-kit and another fall quickpage that match.)

This quickpage includes another whimsical bird from the kit. I love the look on his face! Special thanks to Helga of GrannyArt.Blogspot.com for allowing me to include him, the other birds, the leaves and other images from her vast collection in my Fall Magic kit. Thanks also to Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps and Marisa of Pixeled Memories for use of components from their collections in the kit and in this layout.

Please note that this fall scrapbooking quickpage is for personal use only. I appreciate your honoring my terms of use.

Next week I'll be posting a free quickpage using elements from my upcoming kit, "Something Wicked." As you might guess from the name, it's a Halloween kit. It will have some fun and unusual embellishments, so I hope people will find it useful. I'm also working on a huge collection of winter snowflake elements with a variety of looks: gold, copper, silver, transparent, pastel and more. Some even have jewels added, making them extra blingy. I think they're pretty and I hope you will too.

If you find this quickpage helpful, I would appreciate it if you would vote below, follow this blog and/or leave a comment. Thanks and happy scrapping!

Giant Fall Magic Scrapbook Kit Freebie

Scroll down to download the Fall Magic kit
This is the large free Fall Magic digital scrapbook kit I've been working on for a while. It features a riot of color and a lot of fun elements, such as whimsical birds wearing hats and a mouse drinking tea, to go along with the traditional ones you might expect in a kit with its name. I've also included some black elements and some that sparkle and shine, because I really like the way they work with the bright colors in the kit.

I've already posted a Fall Magic mini-kit that coordinates with this full version and a matching quickpage. Another fun quickpage made with the kit, titled "Rain, Rain, Go Away," will be posted next week.

The kit is very large, so I split the zip files into papers and elements. You can download them below:

Sorry, the freebie elements have been retired, but you can buy the commercial use version of this kit

These scrapbook papers and elements are for personal use only. Please read the terms of use in the zip files for details.

Thanks a million to the talented designers whose images were used to construct the Fall Magic scrapbook embellishments and papers in this kit: Helga of GrannyArt.Blogspot.com, Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, Cindy of Statchoo Scraps, Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps, Marisa Lerin of Pixeled Memories and Jennifer of Pixels and Ice Cream. I even created some of the elements myself, which was a first for me!

Free Autumn Scrapbook Quickpage

This free personal use digital fall scrapbook quickpage was created with components from the Fall Magic scrapbook kit that I'm in the process of designing. It's going to be a big kit, so I wanted to audition some of the components to see how much more I need to add to make the kit truly useful.

I wanted this kit to reflect its name: Fall Magic. So I've included birds wearing hats, an adorable mouse sipping tea from a china cup, butterflies, stars and other magical elements. There are also autumn word art elements and plenty of autumn-related images to round out the collection. I hope to post the kit soon. But in the meantime, feel free to download the Fall Magic mini-kit that I already posted, along with the quickpage in this post.

CLICK HERE to download the FREE quickpage

Update: The full Fall Magic scrapbook kit is now available.

Many thanks to the talented designers whose images were used to construct this quickpage and my upcoming Fall Magic kit: Helga of GrannyArt.Blogspot.com, Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, Cindy of Statchoo Scraps, Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps, Cajoline of Cajoline Scrap and Jennifer of Pixels and Ice Cream.

This quickpage is for personal use only. Thanks in advance for honoring the terms of use. I hope you enjoy using it!

Fall Magic Scrapbook Mini Kit Freebie

This free digital scrapbooking kit is called Fall Magic. It contains seven freebie PU/S4H scrapbooking paper designs in fall colors, patterns and textures; two clusters with cheerful autumn flowers and leaves; and one quickpage.

It's not even close to fall-like weather here in South Florida; we have two months to go before we can even wear long sleeves. But since most other people in the U.S. and elsewhere are getting ready for the changing seasons, I thought this mini-kit would be useful. I'm planning to do a full kit with autumn images and some fun magical elements, but I was just itching to get at least some of what I've created into circulation now. Please take my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter or Facebook so you'll know when it's time to get the full kit.

Fall Magic mini scrapbook kit

9-10-10 update: The full Fall Magic scrapbook kit and a free Fall Magic quickpage are also available.

Many thanks to all the talented designers whose images were used to construct this kit: Helga of GrannyArt.Blogspot.com, Cindy of Statchoo Scraps, Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps, Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, Cajoline of Cajoline Scrap and Jennifer of Pixels and Ice Cream.

Please read the terms of use text document within the kit for an explanation of what you can and cannot do with this kit.

I would appreciate it if you would vote below and/or leave a comment to let me know what you think of the freebies in this kit. Thanks!

Digital Scrapbook Freebie Kit: Country Afternoon

This free digital scrapbooking kit is called Country Afternoon, and it's for those who love the peaceful country life. It features a trellis covered with flowers, surrounded by a weathered garden gate and an old well. A chicken grazes quietly by the well, presumably enjoying all the colorful flowers in bloom.

There are 10 country-inspired PNG elements  in this kit, including a chicken, an egg, a well, a fence fronted by flowers, grass, a weathervane, a trellis covered in flowers, and three flower images. There is also a quick page that shows the trellis, fence and well combined. The eight matching papers come in soft shades of purple, blue, cream and mauve, in watercolor, distressed and stripe designs.

The elements for this kit came from Helga of GrannyArt.Blogspot.com and the papers are altered versions of designs used by permission from Cindy of Statchoo Scraps, Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps and Silke of Papierstudio Scrap Designs. Thanks to all of them for their creativity!

I hope you enjoy this PU/S4H digital kit, which can be used both for your personal scrapbooks or to make scrapbooks for clients. Please remember to read the Terms of Use included in the kit before you use it though.

Swirls Freebie Digital Scrapbook Kit

Scroll down to download
This personal use freebie digital scrapbooking kit is called Swirls, for obvious reasons. It will always be special to me, because it's the first kit I've ever designed! I hope you like it and find it useful.

The kit contains a quick page, two background papers and two transparent clusters, suitable to be used as frames. Its soft color palette of purple, ivory and teal would be perfect for a wedding or anniversary scrapbook, or to document any elegant occasion. This design is what my mother would have called "fancy schmancy." Since the 20th anniversary of her death is coming up in a few weeks, she's been on my mind. I'm sure she would have approved of this very feminine design.

Many thanks to Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, Kelcey of LunaRosa Scraps and Cindy of Statchoo Designs for the elements and papers used in this digital kit.

Update 8-21-2010: I just designed my second digital scrapbook kit. Feel free to download it.

Please be sure to read and honor the short terms of use included inside the scrapbook kit. And feel free to vote and/or leave a comment below to let me know what you think of the kit. Thanks!

Free Wedding Mini Frame Scrapbook Embellishment

Click on the free floral wedding cluster frame to see it full size and download it. (To save it, right-click on the full-sized image if you have a PC and control-click if you have a Mac.)
This freebie floral frame cluster embellishment is perfect for small photos for a wedding or commitment ceremony, or for any time you want an elegant look. I'm always amazed at people who release whole kits or quick pages with complex images like this, because this one took me forever to make! I can't imagine making a kit, but I suppose I will some day. Maybe I'll get faster as I become more experienced.

At any rate, I just love the look of this triple frame. It features roses and other flowers and scrollwork embellishments from Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, a ribbon from Jamie of Jamie Dell Scraps and a frame from Karen of Kaklei Designs, although it's been greatly modified from its original form. My thanks to all for use of the images.

Free Grandparents Day Scrapbook Paper

Click on the free Grandparents Day scrapbook paper to see it full size.

free Grandparents Day scrapbook paperHere's something you don't see every day: Grandparents Day scrapbook paper. Grandparents Day is on the first Sunday after Labor Day (Sunday, September 12 in 2010 and September 11, 2011), so I thought this paper would come in handy right about now, because you don't have to just use it for scrapbooking; it also makes great wrapping paper for small Grandparents Day gifts.

I envy those of you who still have your grandparents around to honor on Grandparents Day. My paternal grandfather died before I was born and his wife passed on when I was very young. My maternal grandparents lived until I was in my later teens but that was a very long time ago! I still remember the way my maternal grandfather sang to me when I was a little girl. He also paid for my education, because my father died when I was a young teenager and there wasn't a lot of money in the household. I owe my being able to create scrapbook paper to him, because he paid for a special technical training program that taught me graphic design. So, all these years later, I'd like to say a public "thanks" to my Grandpa Fred for his love and support.

I have a hub with more Grandparents Day scrapbook papers, along with some clip art that can also be used as Grandparents Day cards. Feel free to hop on over and do some downloading. Also, check out all the other images in the sidebar and follow me on Twitter for more scrapbooking freebies.

This free pearl and diamond scrapbook cluster element is for all you divas out there! It happens to have my birthstone in it, so that makes me like it all the more.

This element is a transparent PNG created at 300 dpi, so I hope you will find plenty of uses for it, as a photo frame, filled with lettering or standing alone, to flash your diva style on a scrapbook page.

The individual elements from this came from three sources: Jamie Dell Scraps, KakleiDesign and Blushbutter. I thank them all for their beautiful images!

Free Garden Frame Scrapbook Element

Click on the free digital garden scrapbook frame to see and download the full-size image.

This free scrapbooking frame has a relaxing home and garden theme, so I call it "Home Sweet Home." The wood look frame scrapbook element is a transparent PNG file that features a delicate and ornate white bird cage, two flowerpots with colorful blooms and a wicker basket full of brilliant orange and yellow flowers.

The lovely flower images come from Lesley Mason of Scrappiness Downunder. The bird cage is also from her blog but is from a scrapbooking kit by someone named Linda (Sorry, Linda, I don't know your last name.)

Free Digital Floral Bouquet Image

Click on the free digital floral bouquet scrapbook image to see and download the full-size image.

This digital floral bouquet scrapbook image reminds me of weddings and summertime, so I'm hoping that a lot of people will find it useful. It's a 300 dpi PNG file with a transparent background, so unlike all the other files I've posted before, you can layer this one. Now that I've gotten the hang of creating transparent files, I'll be making more of them!

The lovely flowers and flourish images came from Lesley of Scrappiness Downunder, who very generously shares her prodigious talents on her blog.

Free Purple Flourishes Scrapbook Paper

Click on the free purple scrapbook paper to see and download the full-size image.

This free purple scrapbook paper features flourishes and a bit of an updated take on an old-world look. I hope you'll find it useful for scrapbook backgrounds, handmade cards, origami and other crafts -- whether you're going for a vintage look or not.

I'm a bit of a vintage lover, so this pattern appeals to that part of me. (Click the Vintage Scrapbooking button in the sidebar to visit my other blog if you're a vintage lover too.) I also love purple. These shades of purple aren't exactly what you would think of as vintage, but that's why I like them! The design is more of an homage than a literal interpretation. It also has vertical straight lines, which I always find creeping into my work. I began my career as a technical illustrator many years ago (when computers weren't even thought of yet and we drew everything by hand!), so I fear all those airplane fuselages and flow charts I inked have seeped into my brain and are causing it to see things in quite a linear way.

The pretty flourishes in this scrapbook paper design are called "April Ornaments" and they come from Jennifer Furlotte of Pixels and Ice Cream. Thanks, Jennifer!

I hope you enjoy this purple scrapbook paper and find some fun uses for it!

Free Red and White Check Tablecloth Scrapbook Paper

Click on the free picnic tablecloth scrapbook paper to see and download the full-size image.

This free red and white checkerboard scrapbook paper is similar to a tablecloth you'd use at a picnic. (Ants not included.) I thought it was fitting to post it on Memorial Day weekend, which is considered the first weekend of summer in the United States -- even if the calendar disagrees.

The design has a classic retro feel to it, due to the silhouetted chickens and roosters that occupy some of the squares, and the traditional red, pink and white color scheme. I hope you find some good uses for it.
